The Department of Kokborok was established in the year 2011 as an Foundation course and elective subject was introduced in 2012. Kokborok is the main native language of the Tripuri people of the Indian state of Tripura. At present the Department has only one Assistant Professor and three Guest Lecturers.

iv). Demand of the subject among the students is very high.
