Knowledge is the key to immortality
A National Level Webinar on "What are Atomic Clocks and why do we need them?" was organized by the department of Physics MBB college, Agartala, on 5th February,2021. Prof Amitava Sen, formerly director of CSIR-NPL India was the speaker cum resource person of the program. Students and faculties from different part of India attended the seminar. It was very successful program with the active participation of the students and teachers.
2. Title of the event: Popular talk on 'A REVISIT TO SOME BASIC CONCEPTS IN PHYSICS' on the occasion of National science day.
A popular talk on "A REVISIT TO SOME BASIC CONCEPTS IN PHYSICS" was organized by the department of Physics MBB college on the occasion of National science day on 3rd March,2021. Prof. Promode Ranjan Bhattacharjee, eminent scientist, Member of Optical Society of India and retired Principal of Kabi Nazrul Mahavidyalaya, Sonamura was the speaker of the program. Prof. Bhattacharjee described very lucidly about some ambiguities of notation used in modern physical optics. The lecture session was followed by students interaction with the speaker.
Around 100 number of students were present in the program. Science faculties from different disciplines also attended the program.
On the same day Departmental Wall magazine 'Drishtikon' was inaugurated by Prof. Promode Ranjan Bhattacharjee.
3.Title of the event: Student Seminar
On 4th March,2021 a Student Seminar was organized by the department at 10:00 a.m. Kankan Sharma of 1st semester Physics major, Ranabir Sarkar of 3rd semester and Rana Das of 5th semester presented lectures on some popular topics. Students participated actively in the discussion session followed by the students presentation.
4.Students Project:-
On the same day i.e., on 4th March,2021 Kankan Sharma and Shantanu Das presented their project on " Water management" in the State council of Science and technology, Gorkha Basti, on behalf of the department. Their project was highly appreciated by science and technology. They showed their interest to introduce commercially the hand made instrument of the students after some modification.
PROGRAM OUTCOME:- From the Webinar, students and faculties learned about a completely new topic. Students learned about a new area of research which is very important for the students of basic science. The faculties learned how to conduct a web seminar and students learned how to communicate in an e-based platform.
The total Program of National Science Day Observation was conducted by the students under the guidance of the faculties. They learned the importance of the team spirit. From the lecture of the resource person we have learnt how to identify a theoretical problem from the conventional theories and how to solve the problem. We learnt a new wings of research.
